A world withOUT music?? Oh boy, I can't live a life without music!! I listen to music every single day, and of course, as everyone knows, I LOVE to sing songs!! Although, I think music is most important in movies. The music is what gets you hyped up, and makes you feel when the scary parts are coming up! I have a hard time recalling actual music from movies, so I'll just describe to you what the music did to that part in the movie. First off, music brings in emotion, like when someone passes away, they play a super sad song, and it just makes me want to cry!! Also, I think it's kind of funny when they play the trumpet sound when someone is entering a room, and they play the shot in slow motion. Lastly, I like it in Peter Pan when they entered into Neverland, and there is like this music where it's like you're "entering a new world" kind of thing.
So, you guys all know how they play sad music when people are sad, yes? Well, that is like my favorite emotion grabber in movies because it makes me actually feel the emotion the people in the movie are feeling. I bet that if there was no sad music or melody during sad parts of the movie, I wouldn't cry as much. They are trying to really grab the audiences attention, and give them a feeling of what's happening on the screen, so it will be a good movie. So, even if they have really good actors, I think the sad music really bumps up the emotion level. So that's what I really like about those parts in the movie.
Secondly, certain music just makes people laugh, like for instance, when I see people running to each other in slow motion, or entering a room in slow motion, I don't think much of it, but when they add that certain trumpet sound into it, I don't know why, but it just makes me laugh so much!! I mean, seriously, especially if their acting is bad too, then it just makes the whole look even more funny, which is sometimes what the directors are looking for. So I think that maybe if they added different music, like sad music to it or like "tears of joy" kind of music, then I would be smiling and crying tears of joy. You know what I'm getting at here? Anyways, I think that when movies have scenes like that in them, then I just can't help but laugh, wether it's on the inside or out loud.
Lastly, I actually remember this from Peter Pan. In this one scene when Wendy, Peter, John, and I think Michael enter into the Neverland world, there is this type of music you hear, and it's like a happy music. It's kind of like the one you hear when you watch a Disney movie and then there's that castle and the fireworks and the flag and stuff, and there's that shooting star that goes over the castle. It's hard to explain through text, but you kind of get the idea, because I'm pretty sure all of you have watched more than one Disney movie. But, back to my point... that sound just makes you feel brand new, and like, "Wow!" like you just want to open your eyes wider and look the way Peter Pan guys are looking, and see what's so beautiful; and then they show Neverland, and you're just like, "OMG!! It's so beautiful!!!!!" I think that if they didn't have that specific tune, it wouldn't have brung any emotion or had any effect on my mind.
As you can see, music is a very important thing that we hear in our daily lives. It brings emotion to people, and it makes you feel a certain way when you hear a certain tune play over a scene. Without the music that they have in the movies, nothing would be the same. Ever. I don't think that movies would be so interesting to listen to and watch if there were no sound tracks to go with what's being shown on the screen. Music is what makes the movie a good movie. If you really think about it for a while, what it would be like without music in movies, it's kind of unusual... you wouldn't feel any emotions, or you wouldn't think a certain way about things you're seeing, so I think that music makes a big impact on the likability and interest of a movie.
