Hey hey hey everybody! Thanksgiving is tomorrow!!! I can't wait! Although, I just want to say a few thanks to my folks out there! There are three things that I am most thankful for, (There's actually more, but I'm only writing about three). One thing I am most thankful for is God. Jesus. I am Christian, and so I think that having God in my life to guide me and set the stepping stones for me is pretty awesome. I'm thankful also for my family, which includes my parents and my sister.. Without them, I basically would not be the person I am today. Lastly, I am thankful for my friends. They have always been there for me, through our ups and downs.
The number one thing on my thankful list is being able to have Jesus Christ in my life. He has done so much for me! He's provided me with everything I could ever need, even more! I know that He has faith in me, and hope, and He forgives me, even when I may do something that is wrong, He has mercy on us. All I can really say is that God is almighty, He is the King! He does everything for us that he possibly can, which I thank Him for doing every single day. He guides me through the hard times, and makes a path for me to take - it may not be easy, but it's well worth going through it and becoming better in the end. There are so many things that He has done, that I just simply wouldn't be able to write them all! Without God, without Jesus, I don't know where I would stand, He is my solid rock. Without Him, I wouldn't be here, literally, because he created my Mom and my Dad, who I am also thankful for… My family is a BIG part in my life! This includes my Mom and my Dad, and my sister, aunty, uncle, grandma, so on. These people - and there's a lot - have helped me in so many ways! Whether it's helping me with my homework, well they try to, or just being there for me in general. I would say that if I didn't have such a wonderful family, I wouldn't be the girl I am today. Getting good grades, or being "responsible". They have taught me so much in life that I can't thank them enough for it. Without my parents or relatives, I probably would be behind on most things, because I'm not the most organized girl on Earth… I mean I'm okay, but that's not the point. My Mom and my Dad have always been there for me, and I know that they scold me sometimes, but it's supposedly because they love me, which I do believe. I am so blessed to be able to have a sister that's the same age as me! Better yet, a twin!!! There is never a moment where I would feel alone or anything, because I'll always have her to hang out with. My sister and I can tell each other everything, we are practically best friends! Speaking of friends, I have to say that I am overjoyed with all the friends that I have in my life! They are always there for me, even when we go through hard times, we still end up being best friends the next day! So I am so thankful to have so many friends that have my back almost 24/7! We have so many laughs and joyful moments together! In fact, everyone in the media class is my friend!! I am thankful to have them in my life as well. I never thought that I would like hang out with a sixth or seventh grader outside of school until I joined the media class! There are so many people that are friends of mine that I simply can't thank each individual one of them! So I would just like them to know that I am soooo blessed to have them in my life, and that they are plain awesome! The best part is, is that they follow God as well, so I definitely know that I can trust them and count on them! My friends in my life complete me. Without having friends, I couldn't imagine what I would be doing! Probably sitting in a little room with dozens of animals which I would call "my friends" , or even more so, imaginary ones - who knows what? But, this is why I can't tell you how much I am thankful to have other people in my life besides my family that care about me! There are so many people and things in my life, and of course I am thankful each and everyone, and everything. Though, one thing that I appreciate most is LIFE. If I didn't have a life, I wouldn't be writing any of these things! But you know who gave me life in the first place? GOD. Like I said, he is amazing, and I can't thank Him enough for all that he had given me, and has done for me. So many people have been there for me in my life, and have been there by my side all the time. I also want to thank my two Grandfathers, sadly, they have passed, but I know that they are in a MUCH better place than we are. They have done so much for me as well! I will never forget what they have done for me, in fact, I will never forget what anyone has done for me! Go out there and just say "Thank you" to everyone who had been in your life! This is the week to be thankful! Thank you everyone for everything, and God bless you! Happy

So, as you all know, Christmas is coming up, and of course, we all get gifts fro Christmas, right? Well, I was wondering if I got a laptop for Christmas, then would I be able to use that for my projects instead of using the class's one? That way it will provide more laptops for other people right? Although, do you think that if I were to get a Macbook Pro or something, then I would probably have to get Final Cut Pro… ? How much does that cost? Anyways, if you could tell me, that'd be great.. But, I am also getting to use my Aunty's T2i, and so then I could use that for the class and then there will be more cameras for the class to use! Hooray!! So that benefits both me, and the class! Unless Mr. M wants me to use his equipment… I just thought that it would benefit the class and expand the use of equipment for everyone. You know, kind of help out a little bit. I was still wondering if we were ever going to get more laptops, like Mr. M said at the Oahu Media camp. That ways everyone will be able to have their own laptop when they want to. That may not happen for a long time more, since we need to be able to raise money for it and all. Oh!! Another thing I was wondering was if we won like a prize for the STN Challenge, since we won first and third. I'm so happy that all of our work paid off, for both our's and the boy's group! Congratulations by the way! Well, I kind of like the way Waianae has their equipment thing set up, like you have this little room where you check out equipment and stuff, because it seems more professional and "business" like, you know? Like, Mr. M was saying how he liked that set up as well, and he kind of got some ideas for our media room as well! I can't wait until I'm in like High School and then I come back and he has it set up in like a totally different way with computers for everyone and stuff… I'm probably going to be like, Aww.. but at least the class is getting better and better and the students have more opportunities! Right now, let's just appreciate the equipment that we do have and cherish it while it lasts! Thanks Mr. M for all that equipment by the way!
As a class, I must say, yes we are one big ohana. So we should definitely take that in a legitimate way. Families are supposed to be there for each other and look out after one another. That means, we need to do all we can to make sure that we are a big happy family! (Of 27)!!! Just like in Yours Mine and Ours, they learned to be able to work things out and enjoy each other after a long process of getting to know each other. Same goes for us, we should all get the chance to bond with each other so that we can work our way to a happy family in the end. So, I've heard that there are people that make fun of others or put others down in this class, and that is totally not cool. Of course maybe you could play around a little, but make sure that they know you're just playing, like a real family. But, we want to be careful not to push things too far. Being a part of this class is awesome, but that is only because we treat each other like family! If we didn't treat others like family, then everyone would hate each other, well, dislike each other, and we wouldn't be able to have a good time!
In the CKTV Ohana this year, we have a lot more 6th graders then 7th and 8th graders. That means we have more new 'brothers and sisters' in this Ohana! SO, instead of ignoring them, or leaving them out because you think they don't know anything, include them so that they DO know! We shouldn't leave them out because they are a part of our Ohana now, and us returnees should set a good example for them. Just like being a role model for your younger siblings. Everyone should look out for one another just like a real family would do. There are 26 students in this class, and Mr. M. That sure is one big family! And we need to make sure that not one person is left out in anything! Even if it means just hanging out in the library. If they want to join, let 'em join! Here in CKTV, we will always be sure that no one, under any circumstances, feels left out. Now, let's talk about what this all means to be in this class. I've been in CKTV for only two years, and I must say that I have gotten to know my classmates well over time. Being in this class is a big responsibility over all. We were assigned partners from the beginning of the year till second quarter. My job is to make sure I teach my partner everything that I know, so that they aren't left out on anything important. I also have to learn to get along with my partner, and that is going pretty well. I would say that we are beginning to be friends now! As the returnee, I need to set a good example for my partner, and make her feel like a part of this family, rather than just a third wheel. Everyone in this class actually has a big role to play. Even if you are the new-comer. We each have the responsibility to treat each other the way we would want to be treated. So before you go and harass or tease anyone, think to yourself, "If I were them, how would I feel?" Then answer that question. Being a part of this Ohana means that you need to make a commitment that you will treat each other like family. No matter who they may be. I have seen others perform a type of bullying to my fellow classmates, and let me tell you something, it is so not cool to watch this happen! Those people need to remember that everyone here all in this together, like a body… All the parts need to cooperate together in order for it to be successful! So if we want to be a successful family, we need to work at it, and work at it to make it happen, other wise, it will fail. But even if it does, we will get back up and try again until we reach the highest point to completing the task. If I were to see another act of unkindness, I would step up for the victim, and tell the bully that this is not how a family should act. I would want them to picture themselves in the other person's shoes and see how it feels. Because it doesn't feel good to be the one being bullied. I don't know why on Earth people even choose to bully others, because it should not make them feel good themselves, that they've hurt another person, who in fact, is just like them. Just like you… No one deserves to feel that way. All of us need to work as a team to make the most of this Ohana. We'll take it day by day, doing things for each other that will help them out. If someone were to tease someone else, just give them a nudge and say, "Hey, remember, we're a family. A team." Family is the most important thing in the world… It's not just an important thing, in fact, it is everything… You don't choose your family. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them So be thankful that you have all these people in your life that are there to help you and support you. Even if they aren't exactly your biological family, they are there for you. having a family, should mean that no one gets left behind or forgotten, and with that said, let's live this year as one big, happy CKTV Ohana! So, I figured that most of you must have a pen pal already. I do. I'm so excited to meet her in person! Well, I think I already did, because we went last year to their school… but anyways, i'm still psyched! My pen pal is Dylynn Abbey. She is really pretty! We have some things in common as well! She and I both like to sing, and we both like to dance! I hear she is really nice, so that's good! She hasn't emailed me back in a while, which is kind of sad… I was hoping to get to know her well before we meet, but lately, it hasn't been going too well. I wonder if she checks her emails often? Or if any of you may have her number, then maybe I could text her instead… I don't know, but I just really want to like, talk, you know? Other wise, if I don't know anything about her, then that'd be junk when we go to Florida and I don't know who she really is, or what she's like. So anyways, I hope she responds to my email! What about you guys? How are you doing with your pen pal?
Alright, well, we have our second quarter projects started, and I would say that Nicole and I are making some progress. We are still to get two more interviews on Wednesday. I know, it's kind of late to do it, but if it's going to help us, then it's worth it! We have transcribed our interviews, and we are starting to put together our script… We've got our treatment and all, so I think that's good… The only thing is that we kind of now have a different perspective of our story, rather than it just being on the orphanage.
We are somewhat on track due to the fact that we have our transcribing almost completed. We've got only three interviews so far, which is kind of a bummer, and definitely not what I was hoping to start off with… We would've had another one, but they couldn't do it. One of our interviews is very low in quality, and the reason for that is because we had lost the first interview shot with this one lady, and so I had to redo it, only this time, we did it online. And now, I know what you're thinking, that I must be crazy to think of doing this! The video must look really bad in your mind, but it's well enough to the point where you can at least see her facial details and all… I really hope this works out for us because she gave a REALLY good interview, all the way in Thailand!!!! We are on the verge of trying to put together our script with what we have so far, so we can get a head start kind of… But, what I mean by that is like, highlighting and pasting it after the Voice Over it matches. Then, we finished up our treatment. We decided to do both the Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How, and the Topic, Angle, issue, and Story. Although, we had a little chat with my uncle, so he could give us some ideas, since he kind of is into the media industry and all. And this is where it all changes… We decided that instead of just making the story on the Orphanage in Thailand, we decided that it should go deeper into the reason why, and how it's changed the lives of children. Now, this is kind of heavy… our story is on how this orphanage, and Mark and Dorien have rescued many many children from being at risk of child trafficking, and slavery. Over in Thailand, there are grandparents and parents that are really poor, and want money, so because they want money, they are willing to sell their own children out for child trafficking and slavery! In return, they get money, and the children get candy… To them, candy equals a reward for being a prostitute! These children are literally four, five years old! Mark and Dorien just couldn't bear to see these children out on the streets being forced to do these things! Aside from this, the grandparents hardly ever give up their children because they basically set their child to be their own slave, and make them work for them! That is just downright wrong! So this is why I chose to add this in to my story, so that I can show how Mark and Dorien and the Orphanage have made a life changing difference in these children's lives… Can you imagine what their lives would've been like if it weren't for Mark and Dorien? At such a young age they are forced to, you know what, with such discusting, cruel people! When I first heard about this, I was truly devastated, I feel SOOO lucky to be where I am now! So anyways, I am surely making my way through this project, step by step… I really hope this turns out alright. I am glad that I met up with Rick, so he was able to tell me all this information, otherwise, I think my project wouldn't have been that interesting to start with… Whether or not I'm on time, or behind, I know I will make this project turn from Good, to GREAT! (PS, sorry if this blog was a heavy thing to process, or if you felt uncomfortable, but I felt I needed to share with you how lucky we are, and how wonderful they must feel now that Mark and Dorien rescued them). So as you all know, we ended the street fair early this past weekend... I hope we made a pretty decent amount of money after all the hard work all the parents did! The Bingo was pretty good, although the same people won over again... And the good was really good as well, so I think we made good profit from that. I was pretty bummed that the weather just came out of nowhere! There Was thunder and lightning! I hope that next time it will be so much better and that we will attract more people! This fundraiser was also a good bonding time for all of us! We played hide and go seek in the library!! It was so fun! So at least there was a good outcome of it! When the lightning struck, Haven got our reactions on video when she was getting B-roll! Over all I think this was okay, but not the best ever.... Well get me next time though guys, I know it! Anyways, I think this is a really good fundraiser, but we just lucked out this time.... Okay, well that's all I have to say for today! See you!!!
Well, if you're asking me if I think television will still exist the way it is in like about 10 years, then my answer to that is, well, I think so! I'm not a real big fan of sitting around watching T.V. To be honest, I have better things to do than waste my time staring at a colorful screen with motion on it…. Life's short, so I want to spend my time doing things outdoors and have fun on the weekends instead of watching like, new episodes or something. I'm sorry to all of those who like to watch T.V., but that's just my opinion. My sister really likes to watch T.V. episodes on her phone all the time, so I kind of have different perspectives on if it will last… For my reasons, I think it will last because who doesn't like watching T.V. on a big giant screen rather than on a little iPhone? On the other hand, I think things will be more on demand now because some people just can't wait that long for an episode to show at that specific time. But, I do think that people would be sitting around because it ties in with the big screen T.V. on your wall. You kinda want to get comfortable when you watch something, rather than always being on the go, shaking the phone while you're walking.
So my first thing, is that in ten years, Television will be similar to how it is now. We will still watch things in our living rooms, or family rooms, because there is probably nothing better to watch T.V. on than a humongous flat screen T.V. you feel so included with all the action and it makes you kind of like a part of the world thats on the screen. There's also surround sound if you choose to watch it in a room with a huge T.V., but if you were to watch it on a mobile device, then you probably wouldn't feel all the emotion as good as you would on that big screen. Most people would choose to get in with the action! That's what I wold do, you know, if it was like a 'totally out of it' day. Or like, if it's Christmas time, and there's a blizzard on your vacation, then you could stay in the room with hot cocoa and watch Christmas movies on the huge screen while snuggling up in your fluffy blanket!! On the other hand, I also think that in ten years, people will be watching more things on demand rather than waiting for it to go on, according to the schedule. Who likes to sit around counting down to the time the new episode is going to show, when you can just go to it on demand? It's also easier if you have a certain event that night at that time, and you can't watch it then. Also, if you missed an episode, there's always a way for you to go back and watch it the next day! They might still have the schedules up, but I think more people would just prefer watching their shows on demand. For example, a lot of my friends, and my sister, like to watch things on their iDevices, such as One Upon A Time, which is pretty interesting actually. Anyways, that's just one example of how more and more people are beginning to watch things on demand when it's not showing on T.V. that moment. Lastly, I think that most people won't change about sitting around watching T.V. on their couch because they most likely would want to be comfortable while watching something. They wouldn't rather be having to hold a device in their hands, watching something, while at the same time, their hand movement is making the screen shake. When this happens, you might also have a hard time hearing what they are saying if the outside noise is too noisy for them. Your hand also probably would get sore after holding the phone up for too long, so it would get uncomfortable sooner or later. Although, it would also be quite helpful for them to watch it in the go because then they can take it wherever they go, and they won't have to turn off the T.V. when they leave, and they could just watch it on their device wherever they are! So there's that benefit! There are many different reasons as to if it will change or stay the same in every way. IT's very hard to determine wether or not Television will stay the same as it is today. The T.V.'s will definitely be more techie and fancy though, like definitely! But the way of watching television is about a fifty-fifty chance of changing and staying the same in ten years from now. It all really depends on the way the people are in ten years, because the way we watch it all depends on us, wether we prefer this better than that. So, just because one area starts watching things online, does not mean it's going to be the same throughout the entire world, so things may vary. Overall though, I feel like Television will somewhat be the same in about ten years or so, even if the technology changes up a bit, I feel like people will still like what we will call in ten years, the "old fas Hey guys, so as you can see, I've changed from Edublogs to Weebly!! I think this is a much better site to use because it has so many features to use and play around with, which I am really happy about because I LOVE to customize things! That way every person in this class can be totally unique from a someone else! It's also way easier to upload photos an videos and stuff, which is good because I never knew how to upload photos on Edublogs from the Desktop, so I never tried! But now, whenever I do my blog, I can always easily add pictures to it without getting confused! I also like how you can have multiple pages because then you can even create a page for fun, which is what I will do because I think it will be fun! This seems like a more REALISTIC blog page than the other one, which is good for our MEDIA class, having to do with technology and all that, you know what I'm saying? Well, anyways, I think that it is super great that we are switching over to Weebly! It is also way more convenient if you are on you're phone and some buttons won't work or something (which has happened to me)! Okay well, thank you for reading my blog! I can't wait to see what your other blogs look like!
Hey guys, so I am super excited for this year's STN Competition! As you all know, the categories are PSA, Anchoring, Music Video, Movie Trailer, Spot Feature, And I think the last one is Commercial. Anyways, so I have been thinking about it for a while, and there is one that I have always water to do! That would have to be Movie Trailer! It sounds super fun to do, and if it's fun, then I know I'm going to have more fun making it rather than getting upset about making it. If I were in the Movie Trailer contest, I would probably want to be an actress, you know, because I love to act! It also seems less stressful than the Music Video, which I was in last year, because you don't have to think of a whole story that matches with the song or anything like that.
So first of all, like I mentioned, I would like to be a part of the Movie Trailer group! I feel I have a strong connection that makes me think that this is the right group for me to join! This category sounds super fun and I know I'm going to like it, because I enjoy making "movies" and stuff like that on my own. With a little help from my teammates then that's even better! I wanted to be in the movie Trailer at first, but there were a lot of people in that category last year, and then I was randomly put into the Music Video group. This year, since it's my last year in this class, I'm going to try and make it in to the Movie Trailer group! If anything, I would probably be an actress in this group because I LOVE to act! And I've had experience, so I know I'm pretty decent… I may not be the best, but if that spot is available, then I'll take it any day! Although, just because I love to act, doesn't mean I won't be working very much, because acting takes time to get it right to perfection! And so I feel that I would be able to give the director of camera person what they want to see in their shot! My secondary job would be the camera person, because that is also something I like doing. I like to film things in different angles to make the shots look interesting so that it looks really cool on screen! So, I think that I'll also be able to provide an interesting view of the story as both an actress or a camera person. There is also the Sweet Sixteen as well, which I will be participating in. I did it last year, and it was pretty fun, but a bit challenging trying to find a good story, but it was a great experience that I would like to relive! Last year's topic was something about a sacrifice, and we found a great story for that topic, and we were really lucky that he let us use his story! I hope that this year we are able to find a good story as well! I would probably like to do the film because last year I believe we did the Broadcast, so I would like to give the film a try! i've heard that you need actors to act things out, which I can do, and you need writers, and I must say, I do like to write! But not as much as I love to act. So I think I would give it a try! This year is going to be such a great year! I can just feel it in my bones!!! I am so excited for STN! Even though it's kind of a long wait, but before you know it, it'll be March already! As an eighth grader, I definitely want to do film for Sweet 16, and I absolutely, without a doubt, want to be in the Movie Trailer category! I want to make the best out of this last year in Media, and I feel that if I participate in those two things, then I will definitely have a great year! Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope you enjoyed it!! I look forward to reading all of your guys' blogs later on in the year! STN, here we come!!! (In like 5 months)! |
